Looking for some insights on the authenticity of this Badge.
Thanks
Doesn't look good to me. The pin is too thin, the hinge doesn't match for Schwerin. The front looks too bright, perhaps polished?
The one here looks good. Different pin shape, you can see the end of the nut through the hinge is not flat. You can see the soft detail of the sailors face, which yours is missing.

Sorry for the bad news man!
Hmm. The Schwerin mark looks convincing to me, but I see your point about the hinge and details. Dissappointing.
Thx Coran.
That's a shame. I have an SS buckle I might post. Nice to see some answers popping up!
You guys are high…this is an original badge. If you think its bad then let me know where it is an I will buy it.
Regards,
Chris G.
Chris,
I still see the difference in your hinge pin vs militman's above. I've never come across a hinge pin that has such a flat edge. Could be the angle of the photo? Still looks iffy to me!
Appreciate the image of yours. Can I ask where you obtained it from?
Coran
