Attached below is an image of an Italian hat. the inside is labelled with a crown, "1836 Simoncini Uniformi Berretti Guarnizioni _____ Bolgnizo PALERMO", the hat has gold cord detailing and a seven flame grenade patch made of red/burgundy cloth and gold cord on the centre front, both the centre of the grenade and the two buttons on the left and right sides of the hat bear a lyre. With this information I believe that it is an Italian military band hat - potentially Carabinieri. If anyone has any information on this item (including the c. date) it would be appreciated.
