History

The Order of Cultural Merit is conferred upon Ivorians in recognition of meritorious contributions to Ivorian culture. It may also be awarded in recognition of contributions to international relations.

The obverse inscription translates to "Cultural Merit," and the reverse inscription translates to "Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, Unity, Discipline, Labour."
