History

The Medal of Honour of the Gendarmerie is awarded to Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers of the Comorian Gendarmerie in recognition of meritorious citations. It may also be awarded to other Comorian citizens in recognition of meritorious services rendered to the organization.

The reverse inscription translates to "Federal Islamic Republic, Comoros, Gendarmerie."
