History

This cross was conferred upon members of the Ciskei Police in recognition of gallantry in in the line of duty or saving a life/property.

The Ciskei Police was established in 1981 and was assimilated into the South African Police Service in January 1995; therefore, Ciskei Police decorations and medals became discontinued in January 1995.
