History

The Air Force Bravery Cross was awarded to recognize Brazilian Air Force personnel who have displayed acts of valor and courage. Additional acts of bravery ere rewarded by adding palms on the ribbon.

The Medal was authorized with a unique grade.

It is reported that the Medal has only been awarded to five Officers of the Brazilian Air Force who flew in the Italian Campaign during the Second World War. All of these were granted posthumously.
