The Cross for Uruguay (Cruz do Uruguai) was the first medal established by João VI as Emperor of Brazil in 1822. It was established to reward Portuguese and Brazilian military personnel who occupied Uruguay at the Cisplatine Campaign in 1811, and later at the Campaign of 1817-1822.
