History
The Star for Casma (Estrella por el Combate Naval de Casma) was authorized by the Chilean government to reward the military personnel who fought against Peruvian forces at the Naval Battle of Casma, near to the Callao fortress, in 1839. The battle was inconclusive.
The Star was authorized in Gold and Silver; however, it is not clear if the composition of the Star denoted the rank of the recipient.
