History

The Army of the South Medal (Medalla al Ejército del Sur) was authorized by the government of Argentina in recognition of the Army of the South for their ongoing actions the against the Indians at Patagonia and Rio Negro in the last twenty years of the 19th century.

The Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "Campaign of Rio Negro and Patagonia," and a reverse inscription that translates to "The Nation to the Army of the South."
