History
The National Córdoba Guard Medal (Medalla Guardia Nacional de Córdoba) was instituted by the Province of Córdoba, in recognition of the troops of the National Córdoba Guard who fought against Paraguayan forces at the Province of Córdoba in the Triple Alliance War (1864-1870).
The composition of this Medal denotes the rank of the recipient; the gold Medal was conferred upon Generals and Officers, while the silver Medal was awarded to enlisted men.
The Medal features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "To National Guard, the Provinces of Cordoba," and a reverse inscription that can be translated to “To Courage, and Constancy of those men, Paraguayan Campaign, 1865 to 1869.”
