History

The Medal for the United Nations mission for Referendum in the Western Sahara (MINURSO) was authorised by United Nations in 1991, in recognition of those who participated at the pacific mission to Western Sahara to enable people to choose freely between integration with Morocco or Independence.

Argentina sent military personnel, as well as countries like Austria, Canada, El Salvador, Greece, Italy Honduras, Perú, Venezuela, Uruguay, among others.
