The Medal for a Triumph over a Division of Rebellious Chilean Indians, Ranqueles & Borogas (Medalla por un Triunfo sobre una Fuerte División de Indios Chilenos Sublevados) was authorized by the government of the Province of Buenos Aires in 1839, in recognition of the troops under the command of Colonel Hilario Lagos who defeated a large Indians and Ranqueles forces on December 22, 1838.
It is not clear if the composition denotes the rank of the recipient.
This Medal features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "The Recognized Government to Virtue and Martial Value,” and a reverse inscription that can be translated to “Victory against to a Strong Division of Enemy Chilean and Ranqueles Indians, Buenos Aires December 22, 1838.”
