History

The Medal for the Winners of Laguna and Villar (Medalla a los Vencedores de Laguna y Villar) was authorized in Argentina by the Viceroy in recognition of those who participated in the battles of Laguna (September 13, 1816) and Villar (September 13, 1816,) where the Bolivian revolutionary hero Manuel Ascencio Padilla and his troops were killed.

There was authorized an unique grade in silver.

The Medal features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "To the Winners in Laguna and Villar," and a reverse inscription that translates to "September 14 and 13, 1816."
