History
The Ayohuma Medal (Medalla por Ayohuma) was authorized by the Viceroy government of Potosí, in recognition of General Joaquin de la Pezuela and his troops, who defeated Bolivian and Argentinian revolutionary troops led by the General Manuel Belgrano at the Battle of Ayohuma on November 14, 1813.
It is not clear if neither the composition or design of the Medal denote the rank of the recipient.
This Medal features an obverse inscription that stands to "Recuperó las Provincias de Potosí y Charcas en la Batalla de Ayohuma 14 de Noviembre de 1813," and can be translate to "They Recovered the Potosí and Charcas Provinces at the Battle of Ayohuma on November 14, 1813."
