The Bolivian Congress Medal for the Chaco War (Medalla del Congreso Boliviano por la Guerra del Chaco) was established by the Congress of Bolivia in recognition of both civilians and military personnel, who taking part at the Chaco War (1932-1935.) It was awarded to the heirs of those who died in action.
The Chaco War was a conflict between Bolivia and Paraguay over control of the northern part of the Gran Chaco region, which was rich in oil.
The Medal features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "The Honorable National Congress to the Defenders of the Chaco."
