History

The Hero and Savior General Melgarejo Medal (Medalla Heroe y Salvador General Melgarejo) was authorized by the Bolivian government in 1865, in recognition of the President General Manuel Mariano Melgarejo who returned to Bolivian President in 1855.

It is not clear who was the recipient for this Medal.

The Medal features an obverse inscription that can be translate to "The Hero of December and Savior of the People."
