History

The Medal for the Defenders of Acre, Campaign 1900 (Medalla para los Defensores del Acre, Campaña de 1900) was established in Bolivia by decree of 1901. It was founded in recognition of the military personnel who suppressed a secessionist rebellion at the first expedition to Acre, led by President José Manuel Pando in 1900.

The composition denotes the rank of the recipient.

The shape of the Medal for I and II Classes is a 9-pointed sun with five rays in the angles beneath a flying condor.

This Medal features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "Bolivia to the Defenders of Acre 1900," and a reverse inscription that can be translated to "National Senate 1901."
