The Medal for the Revolution of 1864 (Medalla por la Revolución de 1864) was authorized in 1864, in commemoration of the new government of Manuel Mariano Melgarejo Valencia (1818–1871.) Mariano Melgarejo seized power in a military coup on December 28, 1864.
It is not clear who the recipient of this Medal were.
The Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "Salvation of the Country from Anarchy 1865," and a reverse inscription that translates to "The Hero of December."
