History

The Order of Merit for Public Military Administration (Ordem do Mérito do Ministério Público Militar) was instituted by decree on March 26, 1999, and it was modified in 2000 and 2001. It is tenth-highest award in order of precedence in Brazil.

It is awarded to recognize those who are members of the State Public Ministries, Judges, Lawyers, Public Defenders of the Union and the States, the Bar Council, Attorney Generals Office and the Armed Forces, who have rendered outstanding services and deserve recognition.

The Order's grades are Grand Cross, High Distinction, Distinction, and Good Service.
