History

The Order of Commander José Benito Escobar was founded by decree on August 11, 1982 after the victory of the Sadinista revolution. It was established as the highest order awarded to workers in recognition of distinguished achievements in their employment. It is not clear how many grades this Order has.

Commander José Benito Escobar was an activist and co-founder of the Sandinista movement. He was an ideologist of the movement, protecting the workers rights and establishing syndicalist organization throughout the country.
