History

The Order of Juan Pablo Pérez Alfonzo was founded in Venezuela on April 7, 1998 to reward nationals and foreigners in recognition of meritorious achievements within scientific and technological research and studies. It may also be awarded for merit within teaching related to mining, hydrocarbons, and energy.

The Order consists of three grades: I Class, II Class, and III Class.
