History
The Royal and Military Order of St. Henry (Ordre Royal et Militaire de Saint Henry) was established by King Henry I on April 20, 1811. It was awarded in recognition of outstanding valor and exceptional military and civil merit.
It was awarded in Grand Cross with Collar, Grand Cross with blue ribbon and limited to sixteen recipients, Commander with red ribbon and limited to thirty-two recipients, and Knight with unlimited number of members. This Order was only awarded to Roman Catholic, Haitian military nobles.
This Order was abolished in 1820.
