This medal was instituted by the Governor of the Bahamas in 1909. It was conferred upon members of the Bahamas Police Force in recognition of 16 years of service. It was discontinued in 1934 with the introduction of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Medal for Long Service and Good Conduct (see BHS112).
