History

This medal is conferred for service in three different deployments, the ribbon of the star co-ordinates with the specific theatre of operation in which the recipient served.

The Allied Forces ribbon features blue and white stripes flanking the central red section.

The South-West Africa ribbon features green and white stripes flanking the central red section.

The Expedition ribbon features gray and white stripes flanking the central red section.

The ribbon may also feature Rotation Bars, which are awarded for each period of 180 days of service following the conferral of the medal.
