History
The Order of Manitoba was established on July 14, 1999. It is conferred upon any current or long-term residents of the province who have displayed excellence or high achievement in endeavours that contribute to the overall well-being of Manitoba and its inhabitants.
The obverse of the Order features an enamelled provincial floral emblem, the crocus, superimposed by the Coat of Arms of Manitoba, and surmounted by a crown. The reverse is plain, with each medal being numbered. It is suspended from a white, red, and blue ribbon.
Recipients are entitled to use the post-nominals "OM."
The Order was granted status in the Official Precedence of Canadian Orders, Decorations, and Medals in 1999.
