History
The Order of Antonio Maceo is conferred upon active, reserve and retired members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) in recognition of military merit during the War of National Liberation. Institutions and cities may also receive this award.
The Award a five-pointed star in silver gilt, that featuring on the obverse a superposed gilded figure of Antonio Maceo. It is surrounded by an enameled red band wearing his name and three stars below, flanked by crossed laurel and coffee branches also in silver gilt.
The reverse shows a large silver plaque engraving the Cuban coat of arms and the inscription "REPUBLICA DE CUBA CONSEJO DE ESTADO", translates to "Cuban Republic Consul of State".
