The Cross for the Siege of Puebla (Cruz por el Sitio de Puebla) was authorized by the Mexican government on June 14, 1863. It was awarded to Officers and men who defended the city of Puebla during the French siege of 1863.
The Cross was authorized with two classes. I Class Cross with breast star was awarded to Chiefs, while the II Class Cross was awarded to Officers.
The Cross features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "He Defended the City of Puebla at Zaragoza against the French Army," and it has no reverse inscription.
The I Class Cross consists of a neck badge and a breast star.
