The Cross for Veracruz (Cruz de Veracruz) was instituted by the Mexican government in recognition of the Officers who defended the port of Veracruz against French troops during the First French intervention, also known as Pastry War, in 1838.

The Cross features a enameled white bar on the top with the obverse inscription "Worthy in the Fatherland."

The Cross features an obverse inscription that can be translates to "for his Courage in Veracruz."
