History
The Medal for Sinaloa (Medalla por Sinaloa) was authorized in Mexico by the state of Sinaloa after the end of the Second French Intervention. It was founded in recognition of the Mexican Officers and men who defeated royalist French forces in the state of Sinaloa.
The composition of the Medal denotes the rank of the recipients. The Silver Medal was awarded to Officers, while the Bronze Medal was awarded to enlisted men.
The Medal features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "The State of Sinaloa to its Defenders, against French Intervention." It is not clear if the Medal has reverse inscription.
