History
The Cross for San Pedro (Cruz de San Pedro), a.k.a. Sinaloa Cross, was instituted by the state of Sinaloa to reward its Officers and men who defended the city of San Pedro from five-hundred-man French force, under command of Colonel Gazielle, that attacked the city on December 22, 1865.
It is not clear if the composition of the Cross denotes the rank of the recipient.
The Cross features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "To the Heroic Winners of San Pedro," and a reverse inscription that can be translated to "Award to Patriotism and Courage, Sinaloa State."
