History


The United States Army Air Force Gunner's Wing was authorized on April 29, 1943. The Gunner Wings were awarded during the Second World War to recognize the training and hazardous service provided by aerial gunners who operated defensive machine guns. The Gunner Wings became obsolete in 1953.

There are multiple versions of the Gunner Wings which vary by composition. There may be additional versions not featured here.
