History

The Medal for Champion Shot is believed to have been established around 1939. The award may have been instituted at an earlier date. Army personnel who scored the annual champion shot received the Medal for Champion Shot. It is estimated that only 3 Medals were awarded.

There is very limited information regarding this item and few examples of the design have been found.
