History

Known in Malay as the "Darjah Yang Mulia Pangkuan Negara." This order is presented for meritorious service to the country. It is conferred to twenty-five recipients only, except to foreigners, who are conferred honorary awards.

The insignia of the order consists of a collar, two stars and three types of badges. The motto of the order is "Di=peliharakan Allah" meaning "Under God's Protection."

The male recipient of the first class receives the title "Tun" and the wives of recipients may use "Toh Puan."

The Grand Knight Breast Star (S.M.N) is composed of silver gilt and white enamel. It is a nine-point star with white enamel centre featuring an embossed crown and crescent and the motto of the order in Arabic.
