History

The insignia of the order consists of a collar, two stars and three types of badges. The motto of the order is "Di-peliharakan Allah" meaning "Under God's Protection."

There is no limit to the number of people who may be conferred this award. This medal is conferred upon individuals, male or female, that have provided meritorious service to the Federation of Malaya.

The obverse bears the crown and motto of the Order, and the reverse bears the Coat-of-Arms of the Federation of Malaya along with the inscription " For Meritorious Service."

The ribbon is the same as the ribbon for the order - dark blue with narrow yellow edges and narrow white-red-white central stripes.
