History

In Malay, known as the "Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa." Also known in English as the Gallant Warrior or Grand Knight of Valour. This is the highest federal award in Malaysia.

Awarded to Malaysians who have shown courage and bravery in dangerous situations (in both war and peace times.) This decoration may be conferred upon civilians and military personnel, though there is no version distinction. Bars may be awarded for subsequent acts of gallantry.

The award is an open work silver medal depicting a crescent and an 11 point star on the right. It is worn on a solid yellow ribbon, on the breast.
