History

This decoration is also known as "Bintang Perkhidmatan Yang Berbakti." It is awarded to State employees of officer statues for distinguished service to the state of Kedah, not involving gallantry.

This decoration is an eight-point silver star with ring suspension. It has a circle on the obverse featuring the head of the Sultan facing left with a Jawi inscription below "Perkhidmatan Yang Berbakti" meaning "For Distinguished Service." The reverse bears the same inscription in English, the recipient details and the date.

The ribbon is dark green with two wide white stripes near the edges.
