History

This order, also called "Darjah Kebesaran Mahkota Selangor Yang Amat Mulia" was instituted on June 6, 1961. It is similar to the Family Order, but has a wider distribution for services in the State.

The Collar is comprised of silver gilt and enamel, and is 40 inches in length. It consists of 14 links, the 2 central links are enamelled State Flags joined by a gilt crescent and rubber leaves. The other 12 links are circular with a wreath of palm leaves around the outside. The centre bears the inscription Selangor in Jawi script, crossed palm leaves and a star and crescent all on transparent red enamel background. The links are arranged on in four sets of three different links.

The female insignia is the same design, but the collar is only 31 inches long.
