This decoration is also known as Nepal Bhushan. This medal ceased to be awarded due to the of the end of the Nepalese monarchy in June 2008.

Conferred upon Nepalese citizens in recognition of merit.

The obverse features an inscription in Nepalese, the Himalayan Mountains, a Royal Headdress, and crossed kurkis (Nepalese knives). The reverse features and inscription in Nepalese and the Pashupatinath Temple.
