History
The Order was established by King Rama IX.
The Order is conferred upon individuals who have provided a minimum of five years of devotional service to the Kingdom, for extraordinary service in the name of the State and religion, or for acts of bravery. The Order may also be awarded for donations, with the size of the donation denoting which grade of the Order the individual is awarded.
The Orders may be awarded to both men (Knight) and women (Dame).
The Dame awards utilize the same insignia design as the Knight awards, but they have a bow ribbon beginning with the Knight Grand Commander (II Class) and they are smaller than the Knight awards.
The reverse features the cypher of King Rama IX.
