A six-pointed star, the obverse center bears a Chinese Type 56 Kalashnikov 7.62mm AK-47 assault rifle and a SRV flag in red enamel, encompassed by a cog on one side and foliage on the other, the reverse bears a medallion inscribed in the center with HUYCHUONG DANH DU, encompassed by the inscription MIEN DONG GIAN LAO MA ANH DUNG, with a rectangle suspension of red enamel inscribed with QUAN KHU 7
History
This medal was conferred upon the families of those who were killed in Saigon (Military Region 7) during the 2nd Indochina War.
The obverse inscription translates to "Region 7". The reverse inscription translates to "Honour Decoration, Heroes who Suffered Adversity in Eastern Nambo".
