A Bath cross with a wreath in the quadrants between the arms, the obverse center bears a circular medallion of red enamel with a five-pointed star, on a blue and red striped ribbon

History

The "Hazardous Service Medal" was instituted in 1964 by the Chief of the Joint General Staff, Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces.

The medal was awarded to military personnel but could be awarded posthumously and also to members of allied military forces.
