Physical Description


A circular medal, the obverse bears an image of a row of rooftops, two upright branches, two books, an anvil and a kiln, within a a border inscribed with LAO DONG BOI TINH within a cogged wheel, the reverse bears the inscription VIETNAM, on a deep red and yellow striped ribbon.

History


The decoration was instituted on May 1, 1950, by the Government of Vietnam.

The medal was awarded to individuals and collectives who have excelled in terms of work, creativity or national design.

The Labour Medal is awarded to Vietnamese civilians, military personnel, and organization. It can also be awarded to foreign workers.

There are three Labour Order awards.
