Physical Description

A stubby cross shaped medal, the obverse is of white and red enamel, the reverse is plain, on a red and white striped ribbon.

History

This medal was conferred by the Republic of Vietnam upon civilians and military personnel for outstanding gallantry and risk of life when saving a life. It may be awarded posthumously.

The decoration was awarded during the years of the Vietnam War.
