Physical Description

A medal consisting of an anchor, wings, a crossed rifle and shovel, foliage and an upside down soldiers helmet, with a green enamel wreath, inscribed on the base of the anchor with CUU CHIEN BINH, the reverse is plain, on a blue and yellow striped ribbon.

History

The Veteran's Medal was awarded to civilians, civil servants and military personnel who demonstrated meritorious service to benefit veterans, war widows and orphaned children. It could also be awarded to foreigners.
