History

This Title was awarded to recognize works of extraordinary artistic value that furthered the developed of the arts within the People's Republic of Albania.

It was conferred upon a wide variety of artists, including singers, actors, musicians, dancers, and individuals involved in artistic management.

From 1960-1980 the recipients of the Title only received a certificate, but from 1980 onward the recipients were awarded a medal.

The medal may feature a vertical or horizontal pin on the reverse of the ribbon.
