History

This Title was founded by the Presidium, and it was awarded to Bulgarians in recognition of outstanding and long service in science, education, healthcare, the arts, culture.

The Title was also awarded to civilian and Air Force Pilots.

Recipients of this Title were given the label “Honoured.”

This Title was discontinued on December 30, 1987, and it was conferred upon approximately 4750 recipients.
