History
The Red Cross Decoration for Distinguished Services was created in 1956. It is awarded for distinguished service or selfless acts that embody the mission of the Hellenic Red Cross.
There are two versions of the I Class Cross that differ in design. The first version features a surmounting crown, but the second version, instituted after the fall the of Greek monarchy, does not. The reverse inscription on both versions translates to "Hellenic Red Cross."
