History
The Medal of the Labour Star was established in 1939 by the Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Trade. It was never formally recognised as an official state award, and it is presumed to have been suppressed along with all other awards in 1940. It was awarded to Lithuanian citizens for merit in industry, business, craft, and economics.
The I Class Medal features a reverse inscription that translates to “For Merit, To the Prosperity of Lithuania.”
See also the Order of the Labour Star in the Medals & Decorations of the Republic of Lithuania (1918-1940) for the decoration that was created alongside the Medal of the Labour Star.
