History

The Medal for Humanitarian Missions and Peacekeeping was established by Presidential Decree in 2014 and is administered by the Minister of Defence. It is awarded to military personnel of the Moldovan Armed Forces, civilian employees of the Ministry of Defence, and foreigners in recognition meritorious service on peacekeeping missions in Moldova or abroad.

The Gold Medal features a reverse inscription that translates to "For Humanitarian Missions and the Maintenance of Peace."
