History
The Decoration for Merit to the Construction and Building Materials Industry was established by the Council of Ministers in 1971. It was awarded by the Minister of Construction and Building Materials Industry to employees in the construction and building materials industry in recognition of long and meritorious service, which included high production, the improvement of health and safety measures in the workplace, and excellent training and education provided to new employees. It was discontinued following the collapse of the communist regime in 1989, but a similar award was established by the Republic of Poland in 1999.
Service requirements for the II Class Decoration could be waived, but only under exceptional circumstances.
The II Class Decoration features a reverse inscription that translates to "Merit for Construction and Building Materials Industry."
